“The software, developed at Arrow’s engineering centre in Gdansk, contains protocol stacks for ISO 15118 V2G. There is also sample application code, as well as support for OCCP [Open Charge-Point Protocol] and Control Pilot interfaces as defined in IEC 61851 and SAE J1772,” said the company. ” V2G is required for fast dc chargers and is becoming the preferred communication protocol for ac charging – it increases charger functionality with future-proof capabilities, including wireless charging, bi-directional power transfer and plug-and-charge.”
The board is built around a Lumissil CG5317 transceiver IC, which is HomePlug Green PHY compliant, AEC-Q100 Grade 2 qualified and operates over -40 to 105°C.
The EV charging reference design is available now.
