Mouser adds Gecko Series for secure energy efficiency

Wireless Gecko SoC families from Silicon Labs available from Mouser Electronics now include the EFR32BG22 (BG22), EFR32MG22 (MG22) and EFR32FG22 (FG22) SoCs. The new SoCs are highly energy efficient, delivering exceptional battery life for a range of Internet of Things (IoT) applications.

The Silicon Labs EFR32BG22 single-chips SoCs support Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity, including Bluetooth Mesh, Bluetooth Low Energy and direction-finding with sub-meter accuracy. They extend coin cell battery life for up to 10 years, says the company, to save energy in consumer, commercial, and industrial IoT applications. They are based on an Arm Cortex-M33 core and offer low transmit and receive power.

The EFR32MG22 devices are small, low power SoCs optimised for Zigbee Green Power applications. They combine a 76.8 MHz Arm Cortex-M33 core with a  2.4 GHz radio and can support multiple IoT protocols. They can be used in Zigbee devices powered by coin cell batteries or energy-harvesting sources, for example smart home sensors, lighting controls, and building and industrial automation.

The EFR32FG22 SoCs combine a 38.4 MHz Arm Cortex-M33 processor and a 2.4 GHz radio with a receive sensitivity of -106.4 dBm. Designed for small and compact applications, such as electronic shelf labels, industrial automation sensors, building security and custom modules for commercial lighting, the single chip devices are supported with a suite of software tools and stacks.
