Stratasys invests in UK AM sector

The new offices will house technical and business consultants and software developers from GrabCAD, Stratasys’ software start-up, a cloud-based CAD file sharing system.

In Derby, strategic consultants will help UK businesses implement AM strategies for 3D printing and be a base for field-based application engineers and service support. The company has also added application engineers and software developers to its UK business. 

The UK is in the top five countries for the adoption of AM.  Andy Langfeld, president, EMEA, Stratasys said the company is committed to putting in place an infrastructure to support UK-based channel partners and customers to use AM technology.

The company has also launched the Stratasys Academy, a number of authorised training centres around the UK, offering services run by Tri Tech 3D in Stoke and Laser Lines  in Oxford.

The academies are intended to help businesses overcome the skills gap. On 9 April, Stratasys will host the annual Additive Manufacturing Seminar at the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) in Coventry. There will be sessions discussing recent developments, training resources and developing value-added business cases. There will also be guest customer speakers from McLaren F1 and BAE Systems.
