The rebranding of the lower priced instruments has started with two new instruments.
Previously, Hameg products had a dual logo that included the Rohde & Schwarz name, but according to Roland Steffen, head of the test and measurement division, the German test firm believes it is time to capitalise of the growing strength of the Hameg brand.
“In recent years, Hameg has grown rapidly in Europe. Now we want to expand this growth to other regions. The best way for this to succeed is with the Rohde & Schwarz brand,” said Steffen.
Hameg Instruments, which Rohde & Schwarz acquired a few year ago, will continue to operate as an independent company under the umbrella of the Rohde & Schwarz group of companies. The two sites in Mainhausen and Chemnitz will be expanded.
According to André Vander Stichelen, managing director of Hameg Instruments, the strategy of offering lower priced test instruments will not change.
