Students are taking part in a robotics STEM competition with a twist: the challenges involved are designed by the nuclear power industry.

It's not a Canadian frontier territory, it's a "modular, no-soldering, robotics and engineering platform". It's built around the Yukon Host, a standalone controller powered by the Raspberry Pi RP2040.

I do like to keep track of Spot's progress, the peripatetic robotic dog from Boston Dynamics. He has now been spotted in Dounreay, working on a UK nuclear decommissioning site.

The Petoi family of programmable robot dogs has a new member: an ESP32 board powered "Bittle X", which has the new feature of also being voice controlled.

Maybe you are interested in robotics, perhaps specifically about a benchmark for mobility and animal-based observations for quadruped robots?... Or you are just interested in Google's perspective in this area (they did own Boston Dynamics for a while, after all)...

A pet isn't for Christmas, but maybe a robotic dog pet is. A Petoi Bittle robotic dog, to be precise, for those wanting to learn about robotics.
