Industrial Ethernet switch has multiple pre-certified protocols

Analog Devices has introduced ADIN2299, a multi-protocol industrial 10/100Mbit/s Ethernet switch, designed to operate in a star, line or ring topologies.

“The platform was pre-certified so that the field device can operate in any of the supported industrial Ethernet networks,” according to the company. “The module contains everything needed to participate in a EtherCat, Profinet real-time and isochronous real-time, EtherNet/IP network, including a communications controller, protocol stack, flash, RAM, follower controller and physical layer.”

ADIN2299 blockAn applications processor connects via a UART, SPI or Ethernet interface.

At the software layer, the applications processor connects to a unified interface so the supported industrial protocols can be used without changing the applications processor software.



For cyber security, the module has secure boot and secure update.

Operation is from 3.3V (840mW) and over -40°C to +85°C.
