NGK invests in flexi LED display start-up

“PanelSemi develops and sells ultra-thin and lightweight flexible LED displays, leveraging its thin-film transistor circuit fabrication technology,” according to NGK. “Furthermore, PanelSemi is using this technology to develop a hybrid circuit board by fabricating fine wiring and functional circuits on polyimide film and integrating it with a ceramic substrate. It is expanding its business to include circuit boards for semiconductor modules for wireless communications and opto-electronic integration.”

Its aim is for NGK to combine PanelSemi’s circuit fabrication technology with NGK’s thin lithium-ion rechargeable batteries, ceramic substrates and ceramic packages.
