Pre-Switch appoints Foxy Power as global sales partner

Pre-Switch, the company which developed a artificial intelligence (AI) DC-AC, AC-DC soft switching controller has announced that Foxy Power will be its exclusive sales partner. The Berlin-based business development specialist will promote Pre-Switch’s technology to minimise switching losses in industrial, automotive and alternative energy applications as well a in appliances.

Pre-Switch’s technology uses AI to constantly adjust the relative timing of elements within the switching system. The company explains that by forcing a resonance to offset the current and voltage wave forms, switching losses are minimised.

Foxy Power supports start-ups (Pre-Switch was founded in 2016) and other companies with disruptive technologies. It describes its Product Value Maximization programme as application-centric promotion. The company identifies features of a product and technology, which in this case is the capability to introduce soft switching to DC-AC and AC-DC inverters. The benefits it has identified are that the AI soft switching increases the range of batteries in, for example electric vehicle (EV) traction inverters, or it can reduce the size, weight and cost of the active front end in industrial applications. The company has approached automotive OEMs and automotive suppliers, motor drives, battery charger manufacturers and transportation systems.
