OFI700A measures 126 x 38 x 250mm (0.95kg max) in open frame form and 126 x 40 x 250mm (1.1kg) with its (Optional N) metal cover.
Optimised for conduction cooling, it can run with the baseplate between -40 to +95°C without a fan – with derating caveats.
“There are applications where it is not possible or even allowed to use active ventilation,” according to the company. “In harsh environments or in applications where the required reliability level imposes the need to remove all possible risk of failure, fans and blowers are not allowed. A sealed box such as is required for laser-cutting is but one example, but there is also a growing demand for equipment installed in supervisory rooms or even offices that for the comfort and health of the employees, generated noise is simply not allowed or needs to be very much limited.”
Input can span 85 to 264Vac – Input power factor correction is included: 0.95 at 110Vac and 0.92 at 230Vac. 120 to 350Vdc operation is also possible, for mining equipment, for example.
It comes in three single dc output versions: 12V 58.4A , 28V (24V) 25A or 48V 14.6A. Output voltage can be adjusted with an on-board potentiometer. For example, the 28V output can be adjusted from 22.4V to 33.6V. Each also has a 12V 100mA auxiliary output.
Two can be connected in parallel for 1+1 redundancy. To avoid adding diodes, ‘option O’ adds active ORing circuitry to cut ORing losses to below 1.5W.
in-out isolation is 3kVac, then input to filter ground is 2kVav and isolation from output to filter ground is 500Vac.
Protections include over-current (auto-recovery), over-voltage and over-temperature. Connections for remote control, output voltage sensing, dc-ok flag and inverter operation mode flag are provided.
“OFI700A has endured shock and vibration testing as specified in MIL-STD-810H,” according to Power Box. “In that respect the products have been tested to levels far above normal operating conditions and are specified to sustain a 20G vibration level during transportation.”
Certification is in accordance with UL62368-1, C-UL (equivalent to CAN/CSA-C22.2 No.62368-1) and EN62368-1.
It has a three-year warranty, conforms to the European RoHS, REACH and Low Voltage Directives, and carries the UL, CE and UKCA marks.
