3.5kW three-phase supplies deliver 48 or 65V

Two versions are available giving a choice of 48 or 65Vdc output, each trimmable +15% to -50% (24 to 55.2V, or 32.5 to 74.75V).

Called HFA3500TF, the enclosed PSUs have three-wire inputs and will run from delta or star power networks.

Internally, silicon carbide mosfets contribute to efficiency peaking at 94% (400Vac to 65Vdc).

If more power is needed, up to 10 can be paralleled for 31.5kW.

“To ensure highest performance and reliability in such a low-profile package, the power supply has been designed for high performance and optimised to eliminate hot spots and facilitate cooling throughout its componentry,” according to the company. “The low-profile design features two variable speed cooling fans.”

Operation is over -10 to +70°C, although derating may apply depending on characteristics of the final location. When forced air is not available, the 1.5U tall HCA3500TF is an alternative designed for baseplate conduction cooling.

A 12Vdc 1A auxiliary output, isolated from the input, output and functional ground, is included for remote on-off.

Protections include in-rush current limiting, over-current, over-voltage protection and over-temperature.

Isolation is 4,243Vac input to output, 2,829Vac input to functional ground and 2kVac output to functional ground. “Complying with IEC62368-1, at its rated load and with 480VAC, 60Hz supply, the leakage current is 3mA maximum,” said Cosel.

With the included input filter, it complies with the FCC Part15 class A, VCCI class A, CISPR11 class A, CISPR32 class A, EN55011-A and EN55032-A.

Other compliances are UL62368-1, EN62368-1, C-UL (equivalent to CAN/CSA-C22.2 No.62368-1) for safety, and SEMI F47 for sag, a well as the RoHS and Low Voltage directives. They carry CE and UKCA marking.

Dimensions are 110 x 41 x 468mm and 3kg.

Applications are foreseen measurement, analysis equipment and semiconductor manufacturing equipment, machine tools RF power amplifiers and lithium-ion batteries chargers.
