Data over the bus includes voltage and current characteristics on the input and output sides, and direct connection to an EtherCAT controller is possible without intervening gateways.
“Real-time data transmission makes possible the monitoring, logging and remote control of complex systems,” said Puls. “The power supply data is particularly useful in real-time control loops [and] the power supplies enable automated responses to cope with unplanned operating conditions.”
The units are:
- 240Win 24-28Vout CP10.241-ETC
- 480Win 24-28Vout CP20.241-ETC
- 480Win 48-56Vout CP20.481-ETC
Common specifications are their 48 x 124 x 127mm dimensions and 100 – 240Vac inputs, which can also accept 110 – 300Vdc. Outputs have to be derated slightly at the lowest supply voltages.
Two RJ45 EtherCAT ports are provided for looping in and out, and an integrated LED indicates that the output voltage is valid.
