EW: Imagination brings ThreadX RTOS to I6400 processor

Imagination Technologies has announced expanded support of Express Logic’s industrial grade ThreadX RTOS (real time operating system) for its CPUs based on the multi-threaded MIPS I-class I6400 processor core.

According to Jim Nicholas, executive vice-president, MIPS Processor IP, Imagination, says the use of hardware multi-threading technology allows developers to efficiently exploit inherent parallelism in their workloads.

Typical embedded applications for the 64-bit MIPS CPUs are digital home, automotive, AI, real-time embedded and networking equipment.

William E. Lamie, president, Express Logic, writes:

The RTOS has more than 5.4 billion deployments to-date, says Express Logic.

Both Imagination and Express Logic will be at Embedded World at the Nuremberg Exhibition Centre this week.
