To reduce inductance, it has its terminals along the long sides – so called ‘reverse’ construction.
Rated at 2.5V and having a maximum height of 180µm, LLC15SD70E105ME01# is one of only two membeds of a new family that the company has dubbed ‘LLC’. the other is the 4V rated LLC152D70G105ME01# which is typically 0.2mm tall (0.22mm max).
An X7T dielectric is used, operation is over -55 to 125°C and capacitance is ±20%.
“The LLC series uses Murata’s proprietary thin-layer forming and high-precision lamination technology, along with advanced material atomisation and homogenisation techniques to achieve about 20% reduction in component height compared with existing parts,” said the company.
“This opens up the potential”, it continued, “to more-easily fit the capacitors on the back-side of circuit boards, even amongst solder ball terminations, locating the parts in optimum positions for decoupling of processor power rails, close to the die, in turn allowing fewer capacitors to be used.”
The series complies with AEC-Q200 requirements, passing the 1,000 temperature cycle test and endurance test at 85°C and 80-85% humidity for 1,000 hours.
Applications are foreseen in the processors of driver-assistance systems.
