3.5inch Raptor Lake single-board computers

Made by Taiwanese company iBase, it is called IB961 and comes in four versions:

• i7 with 14cores (6 performance, 8 efficiency, 20 threads)
• i5 with 12 cores (4p, 8e 16t)
• i5 with 10 cores (2p, 8e, 12t)
• i3 with eight-cores (4p, 4e, 12t)

Up to 32Gbyte or ram can be accommodated in its single SO-DIMM slot.

“In this hybrid architecture, the e-cores handle system tasks efficiently, while the p-cores are only activated when high computing power is required,” said Fortec product manager Thomas Schrefel.

Up to four displays can be easily controlled via two DisplayPort 1.2, one LVDS, and one eDP interface – signage is one proposed application.

Interfaces include six USB ports (four type-A and two via a header), two 2.5Gbit/s LAN interfaces and three M.2 slots (M, E and B-Key) for Wi-Fi and 5G communication amongst other possible applications.

Cooling is required and the company provides two options: a self-contained fanned heatsink, and a heat spreader to be attached to further cooling surfaces.

Operation is over 12 to 24V and up to 60°C, and the board measures 102 x 147mm (4 x 5.8inch – similar to the size of a 3.5inch disc drive)

Applications are foreseen in industrial automation, medical and transportation.
