630V 100nF MLCC for electric vehicles

Samsung has created a 630V 100nF multi-layer ceramic capacitor in 1210 size (3.2 x 2.5mm) specifically for electric vehicle dc-dc converters and on-board chargers.

CL32B104KHU6PN has an X7R dielectric (±15% capacitance -55 to +125°C) and a maximum rated voltage of 630V.

“A dc-dc converter converts high voltages to 12Vdc in order to operate in-vehicle infotainment systems, for example,” according to the company. “This type of converter requires MLCCs for functions such as electromagnetic interference filtering, specifically MLCCs that can provide high capacitance at high voltages.”
