Protection diode for OPEN Alliance 100Base-T1 and 1000Base-T1

VETH100A1DD1 is a bidirectional ESD protection diode for automotive Ethernet, compliant with OPEN Alliance 100Base-T1 and 1000Base-T1.

Made by Vishay, it comes in a wettable flank DFN1006-2B package measuring 1 x 0.6 x 0.45mm.

Working range is ±24V, and clamping is typically at 31V for 1A, “a result of its snap-back technology with a trigger voltage >100V”, said the company.

Dynamic resistance is typically 400mΩ and maximum capacitance is 2pF.

“For automotive applications, the protection diode is available in an AEC-Q101 version,” said Vishay. Protection for data lines is “per ISO 10605 and IEC 61000 4 2 at ±15kV contact discharge for 1000 pulses”.

Moisture sensitivity level is one, in accordance with J-STD-020, and is has a UL 94 V-0 flammability rating.

As well as automotive use, applications are foreseen in industrial automation, computers, entertainment devices, home appliances, fixed telecom infrastructure and medical instrumentation.
