Socionext formed from Fujitsu and Panasonic SoC businesses

Today the world has a new semiconductor company – Socionext

Formed from the system LSI businesses of Fujitsu and Panasonic, Socionext  launches globally today.

“It is our goal to become the leading open innovation company for SoCs,” says Socionext.


Socionext  headquarters are located in Yokohama, Japan. European local design teams are in Braunschweig, Langen, Maidenhead,  Neuried, Munich and Linz, Austria.


Socionext will focus on  the automotive and optical networking markets.

Socionext has chosen Europe as the HQ for its Network SoC business unit.

Imaging & Graphics: Graphics Display Controllers, image capture solutions as well as solutions for video stream encoding, decoding and transcoding as well as TV engines.

Networking: Socionext delivers highly complex custom solutions based on its CHAIS data conversion technology as well as leading edge ASIC capabilities.

Custom SoC: Solutions for high performance environments such as server clusters, data centers, test equipment and industrial infrastructures.

Socionext Embedded Software Austria (SESA): Embedded software and software services for automotive, industrial, and telecommunication projects. “
