Equipment billings up 7%, says SEMI

Q1 billings for semiconductor manufacturing equipment were 7% up on Q4 at $9.52 billion which was 6% down on Q1 2014, reports SEMI.

Korean billings were $2.69 billion – 29% up q-o-q and 33% up y-o-y

Taiwan billings were $1.81 billion – down 11% q-o-q and down 30% y-o-y.


American billings were $1.47 billion – down 19% q-o-q and down 20% y-o- y


Japan billings were $1.26 billion – up 13% q-o-q and up 31% y-o-y

China billings were $1.17 billion – up 73% q-o-q and down 32% y-o-y

European billings were $690,000 – up 19% q-o-q and up 19% y-o-y

RoW billings were $430,000 – down 27% q-o-q and up 1 % y-o-y.

Q1 bookings were $9.66 billion – 2% down on Q1 2014 and 3% down on Q4.

SEMI is a global industry association serving the nano- and micro-electronic manufacturing supply chains, with 1,900 member companies. The data above, says SEMI, is gathered jointly with the Semiconductor Equipment Association of Japan (SEAJ) from 100 global equipment companies that provide data on a monthly basis.
