Rutronik accelerates automotive semiconductor range

Rutronik Elektronische Bauelemente has signed a franchise agreement with Elmos Semiconductor to offer Elmos’ range in Europe (including Russia, Turkey and Africa).  From June this year, the franchise agreement will extend to North, Central and South America.

Elmos has a strong presence in the automotive sector, with application specific standard products (ASSPs) for driver assistance and safety systems, for example in ultrasonic distance measurement, gesture control for infotainment systems and LED lighting for interiors.

The distributor’s sales network was a draw for Elmos. Dr Jan Dienstuhl, board member for sales and development at Elmos Semiconductor, commented that its combination of expert knowledge, networks and worldwide distribution make the automotive business unit an “ideal partner for us”.

Rutronik‘s director of the automotive business unit, Uwe Rahn said that the partners hope to “master upcoming challenges of the mobility market . . .  The co-operation enables us to offer our customers economically interesting components which are nevertheless developed according to their individual needs,” he added.

Elmos Semiconductor’s portfolio of semiconductors is primarily for automotive applications.
