The largest, a 31.2 inch monochrome display, can run for 50 hours on its internal 15Ah battery and also has a solar panel – consumption while the image is static is <10mW said RDS, rising to <3.5W during refresh.
Operation is over -15 to 65℃.
Viewing angle of the 2560 x 1440 (16:9) display is almost hemispherical, it is sunlight-readable, and LED front-lighting is included for 24 hour visibility.
The two other sizes are a four-colour 3,200 x 1,800 (16:9) 25.3 inch, and a monochrome 1,600 x 1,200 (4:3) 13.3 inch.
Of the four colour version, RDS said: “When used with dynamic voltage control, the yellow, white, magenta and cyan can combine to create a colour palette of up to 60,000 colours.”
RDS can build custom units to a customer’s specifications if required,” the company told Electronics Weekly. “These particular panels are made by Seekink. All three units have 4G, Wi-Fi and GPS along with a VESA mount. They all operate using Android 7.1.”
