Custom Interconnect has created “the most advanced ‘Net Zero’ power PCBA and power module assembly facility” in the UK. It has a total area of 80,000sq ft.

It has taken part in the Advanced Propulsion Centre @FutureBEV project, with automotive manufacturer BMW, to develop a new UK supply chain for subcomponents and system capability, and other Innovate UK projects.

The judges were impressed with the company’s increase in ‘Net Zero’ projects (from two to nine), the more than doubling of manufacturing capacity and the increase in the size of the engineering team.

Custom demonstrated how it has adapted to a changing business environment while strengthening overall financial performance “backed up with innovations galore”.

Another comment was that the large percentage of the workforce made up of apprentices and graduates is extremely commendable.
On top of all this, being able to double turnover in a challenging climate is “nothing short of incredible”, was the judges’ verdict.
