Embedded World: Atom x7000RE edge AI servers

Supermicro has announced edge computers built around Intel’s Atom x7000RE processors.

Intel Atom x7000RE blockSYS-E100-14AM and SYS-E102-14AM mini-PCs have up to eight ‘Efficient’ cores had dissipate less than 12W.

“While the SYS-E102 comes in a form factor of only 190 x 44 x 120 mm, these systems offer up to 16GB of DDR5-SODIMM, dual 2.5 GbE LAN ports, two independent HDMI ports, three USB 3.2 ports, and a M.2 B/E/M-key with a NANO SIM card slot,” said the company.

Supermicro edge computers intel AtomThe fanless SYS-E100 is a few millimeters larger and works over -20 to +70°C, and its SYS-E100-14AM-IA variant can be DIN rail mounted.

Industrial use is expected, and it can work from rails between 9V and 36V.

At the same time, the company announced its smallest “server capable of housing a double-width, full-length GPU card or three PCIe expansion slots and can accommodate an FHFL GPU card”, it said.

This is the 1U SYS-111AD-WRN2 which is 429mm deep and features 14th or 13th generation Core processor and up to 128Gbyte ram.

Distributed applications are foreseen, such as video processing, streaming and robotics.

Lastly on the day, it announced a 406 x 267 x 117mm high-performance edge server, SYS-E403-13E, with 4th or 5th gen Xeon and room for up to three accelerator cards and up to 2Tbyte of DDR5-5600 RAM.

It has dual 10Gbit/s Ethernet ports, and slots space three PCIe 5.0 x16 cards.
